The Cedar Waxwing and the Crabapple

Towards the end of winter, a flock of masked birds descend on our crabapple tree in the back. A welcome sight during an otherwise slow and lonely time. A few days later, they’re on the next crabapple, and then, they go for the juniper berries, for they love cedars, and this is how they get their name. Plant fruiting trees for the birds.
