Shadow

Motherhood is a non-stop full spectrum of asks and experiences that come with caring for others under a totality of responsibility. You do unimaginable, thankless physical and emotional labor. People only ask about the kids. You realize you are a shadow of yourself, or maybe only exist in the shadow of your children. It becomes necessary to steal the moments that make you feel calm. You winter until time becomes yours again.
